Look, John Lennon, keep your hippie politics out of Stephen's Christmas carols.
you don't hear me harmonizing my christian beliefs over the white album - UNTIL NOW.
I am calling for a mash-up of yuletide carols and the white album - called the white christmas album.
nation - somewhere out there do this mashup and post it on the internet - i'm gonna love while my reindeer gently weeps.

rock ME amadeus

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falco_(musician)
He is the first and so far only artist to score a #1 Hit in the U.S. with a German language song.

In 1990, he made a song for Cindy Crawford and Tatjana Patitz, "Tanja P. not Cindy C.," which appeared on the Album Data de Groove.

Falco died of severe injuries received from a collision with a bus in his Mitsubishi Pajero near the city of Puerto Plata, in the Dominican Republic on 6 February 1998, just two weeks before his 41st birthday. While it was initially reported that the autopsy showed high blood levels of alcohol and cocaine, this was disputed. At the time of his death, he was working on a comeback

Spencer & Heidi Pratt on the Power of Prayer and the True Purpose of Life

Heidi Montag on Her Goal to be 'a Mother Teresa' "My goal is to be, you know, a true deciple of Jesus - a Mother Teresa: helping the poor and the hungry - and, you know - that the most important things in life are not money and wealth*, cause thats just of this world. The treasures that you should be storing up are the treasures in heaven, are the treasures of god."
- from "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here"
*HA!

Spencer Pratt on the Power of Prayer
"I have always found it so fascinating living with Heidi, that everything she prays for, like on to the detail, comes true. For instance: she told me 'Spencer, say a prayer, really try - so I did my first prayer 'God - please - the one person I want to go on a double-date with is Miley Cyrus. If you're so powerful, make me hang out with Miley Cyrus. And he did it within a month." - from "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here"

Maxwell's Silver Hammer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Beatles - Maxwell's Silver Hammer [Early Mix]
"Maxwell's Silver Hammer" is my analogy for when something goes wrong out of the blue, as it so often does, as I was beginning to find out at that time in my life. I wanted something symbolic of that, so to me it was some fictitious character called Maxwell with a silver hammer. I don't know why it was silver, it just sounded better than Maxwell's hammer. It was needed for scanning. We still use that expression now when something unexpected happens."
  • The silver hammer may thus be analogous to a silver bullet, a simple way of getting rid of a complex problem.
  • McCartney referred to the song when talking about his 2005 album Chaos and Creation in the Backyard:
    • "In the past I may have written tongue-in-cheek, like 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer', and dealt with matters of fate in a kind of comical, parody manner. It just so happens in this batch of songs I would look at these subjects and thought it was good for writing. If it's good enough to take to your psychiatrist, it's good enough to make a song of."
  • According to Lennon, the band spent more money on that song than any other on Abbey Road, and he derided the song at the time as a prime example of McCartney's "granny-style" writing.
  • George Harrison described it in 1969 as "one of those instant whistle-along tunes which some people hate, and other people really like. It's a fun song, but it's kind of a drag because Maxwell keeps on destroying everyone like his girlfriend then the school teacher, and then, finally, the judge." In 1977, Harrison would be less charitable, stating "I mean, my God, 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer' was so fruity."[8]
  • Even Ringo Starr recalled in an interview in early 2008: "The worst session ever was 'Maxwell's Silver Hammer.' It was the worst track we ever had to record. It went on for fucking weeks. I thought it was mad." [9] [10]
A Silver Hammer is used to strike a dead Pope of the Roman Catholic Church in the head, twice, to be sure he is dead before electing a new Pope.

i like how: each beatles' outlook on the matter pretty much summarizes their 'character' & role in the family (post-divorce, o f course)

1. "prime example of McCartney's 'granny-style'"
- LENNON (dad: revolutionary: no time for mom's whimsy & attachment to the joy of a timeless ditty)

2. "
one of those instant whistle-along tunes which some people hate, and other people really like." - HARRISON ('uncle': the peace-maker: unconditionally validates any creation without judgement, reminding mom and dad that all things are both beautiful and ugly - reminding the unaware son that it is this duality that gives ALL things a purpose, and should not be judged or discarded quickly.

3. "It was the worst track we ever had to record. It went on for fucking weeks. I thought it was mad." -
RINGO (son: here because he has to be; follows instructions to get his allowance; impatient & -perhaps disillusioned from the rest of the family limiting his involvement, while forcing his participation - disinterested; begrudged, stubbornly unenlightened, feeling the need to pass juvenile (and as mom calls it 'negative nancy') judgement 'just to make his point-' being sure to throw in a curse word to REALLY stick it to mom, dad & wise uncle george.

end transmission.

Toponymy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Toponymy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Toponymy is the scientific study of place-names (toponyms), their origins, meanings, use and typology. The first part of the word is derived from the Greek tópos (τόπος), place; followed by ónoma (ὄνομα), meaning name. It is itself a branch of onomastics, the study of names of all kinds. To understand the value of toponyms, visualize each toponym (or geographical name) as the title of a story revealing some aspect of a region's cultural or natural heritage.

Toponyms are not just words on maps and signs, but vital communication tools that reflect patterns of settlement, exploration, migration, and heritage that may otherwise be overlooked by residents, visitors, and future generations. A toponym is a named point of reference in both the physical and cultural landscape on the Earth's surface. This includes natural features, such as streams (whose names are studied as hydronyms) and artificial ones (such as cities). Natural features are no more geographical than man-made features or administrative units because all such features have names that are in essence artificially applied. Toponyms are typically conservative and give insight into the buried human history of a region. For example Moses I. Finley observed, "it is significant that the bulk of the towns and districts in Greece in historical times retained their pre-Greek names";[1] viewed with archaeological remains, the conclusion is that speakers of proto-Greek infiltrated the region by degrees, rather than in a massive invasion, and that they found already in place a comparatively highly-developed culture.

In ethnology, a toponym is a name derived from a place or a region. In anatomy, a toponym is a name of a region of the body, as distinguished from the name of an organ. In biology, a toponym is a binomial name of a plant.
